I'm late on this front, being that strawberry season has pretty much reached its peak, but I can't help but share my love for them year-round… even when they have no flavor. It's a case of the imperfect perfect strawberry!
They are one of my favorite fruits to snack on when I'm craving something sweet, and I don't want to dip into the junk. I love strawberries covered in chocolate (really!?), cut into bite-sized pieces under a large dollop of whipped cream (and sprinkled with chocolate chips), buzzed into a milkshake, and always my favorite yogurt flavor. In season or not, they are a win-win.
However, I also think it's funny how we like particular things in some forms over others. As in, I don't want my strawberries warm, in the form of jam, or baked into desserts. I realized that I have the opposite feelings about raspberries. I don't care too much for them fresh, eaten with whipped cream, covered in chocolate, but I love them warm, baked into things, and always forever jammy. As strawberries become depleted, raspberries and others are here to stay a little longer.
