Truly delighted by the pastry shop in Brescia. The cafe vibe is just as lovely as the people and I am grateful to be here! After arriving I took a stroll down the street to scope out the work space and was granted opportunity to take away my lunch which was a box of mini pastry. You best believe I tried each one too. The bakery offers a variety of mini pastries that they have decorated beautifully; pate choux filled with pastry cream (bright yellow from the eggs here), baci di dama (typical of Piedimonte), and pasta frolla filled with pistachio cream. The brioche, which is also made in house, is layered with butter just like a croissant. Layers of flaky brioche are then filled with albicocca (apricot) jam or gianduia (similar to nutella).
